French mosque attacked with explosives

le mans mosqueA mosque in the French city of Le Mans has this morning been attacked by unknown assailants in a suspected anti-Islamic incident.

Reports claim that 4 hand grenades were thrown into the court yard of the mosque early this morning. Only one of the grenades exploded and the rest were later recovered by police.

There were no injuries reported during the attack and police have yet to make any arrests.

Although the identity of the attackers is currently unknown the incident is thought to have been an anti-Muslim attack, inspired by yesterday’s terrorist attack at the Charlie Hebdo offices in Paris.

The mosque in question is also thought to be the same site that was under investigation in 2014 after anti-Islamic graffiti reading ‘France for the French’ was written on the walls of the buildings.
